Ultra-Mobile PC
Friday, March 10th, 2006Microsoft have finally unveiled the Ultra-Mobile PC that was at the heart of Project Origami. It is a full PC minus the big screen and keyboard.
For input and output it has a 7-inch touch-sensitive screen that responds to a stylus or the tap of a finger. It roughly has the same dimensions as a large paperback book and can go for about 2.5 hours in between battery recharges.
What’s cool is it will run the full version of Window XP and will support Windows Vista eventually. The device can accommodate a 60 GB hard drive and since it is designed with USB 2 ports, almost anything that boasts USB support is pluggable. The unit should retail between $AU600-$AU1000.
I want one!
